Compton Unified School District (CUSD) serves over 23,504 students at its five high schools, eight middle Schools, three alternative schools, adult school, and 22 elementary schools (39 schools).

Compton students have been admitted to several colleges and universities including: Princeton, Stanford, Rutgers School of Law - Newark, USC, UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Merced, Grambling State University, the California Institute of the Arts, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Alabama A&M University, Otis College of Art and Design, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Northridge, and Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The District has also produced over 5 Gates Millennium Scholars. Just last year Compton Unified's Dominguez High had two in the same year.
